Brahmāstra - Movie Trailer Review

We believe that the movie trailer is a good window into the story & storytelling craft used in the movie. Our past movie trailer reviews are a testament to that fact. When movie trailers are evaluated for how believable, intellectually compelling, emotionally engaging, relevant, and how meaningful they are, we are able to rate the movie for how good or bad the movie is going to be when released. Our Episode 4 is the Movie Trailer Review of the much anticipated Bollywood movie, Brahmāstra. It is an Indian mythological fantasy adventure film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film is intended to serve as the first film in a planned trilogy as part of its own cinematic universe called Astraverse.  Brahmāstra was announced in July 2014 but was delayed by several years. Principal photography lasted for five years from February 2018 to March 2022 with filming locations including Bulgaria, London, New York, Edinburgh, and Varanasi. Production and release of the film were delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is scheduled for release on September 9th, 2022 in standard formats, 3D, IMAX 3D and 4DX 3D by Star Studios in India, and by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures worldwide. The film will be released by Star Studios in India in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages, with Tollywood film director S. S. Rajamouli presenting it in the latter four South Indian languages.

When movie trailers are evaluated for how believable, emotionally engaging, intellectually compelling, relevant, and how meaningful they are, we are able to rate the movie for how good or bad the movie is going to be when released. Our Episode 3 is the Movie Trailer Review of The Adam Project, which is a 2022 American science fiction action comedy-drama film co-produced by Skydance Media, Maximum Effort, and 21 Laps Entertainment, directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay written by Jonathan Tropper, T.S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett, and Mark Levin. It stars Ryan Reynolds, Walker Scobell, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Catherine Keener, and Zoe Saldaña. The plot follows a pilot (Reynolds) from the future, who goes back in time and encounters his younger self (Scobell). What does work in The Adam Project, especially as we pull out of the pandemic, are the effective depictions of loss and the basic human ache for a little bit more control over the relentless march forward. Who hasn’t wished at some point to go back in time and savor a simple moment again, tell someone you loved them one more time, cheat death for an hour or two? The movie trailer gives us a promise of hope that we can muster from watching the main movie. And that is the draw for the audience to go watch the movie.

Laal Singh Chaddha - Movie Trailer Review

Laal Singh Chaddha is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios. It is a remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump, directed by Robert Zemeckis [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Zemeckis], and screenplay by Eric Roth, which itself is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Winston Groom. The film stars Aamir Khan as the title character alongside Kareena Kapoor. Our Episode 2 of the "Story IT" podcast is the Movie Trailer Review of the recently released Laal Singh Chaddha. The movie failed miserably not only with story & storytelling craft, but also it faired very badly at the Box Office. The writing of its fate was there all over in its trailer. Even though it is after the release, it is unimaginable that a veteran actor/director/producer like Aamir Khan would have greenlighted such a bad script with poor storytelling craft. The struggle to keep it true to the original Forrest Gump movie which was a worldwide success from a story & storytelling craft perspective, and yet remaking it for the Indian audiences in the Indian story-world, became detrimental to its success. CODA - Movie Trailer Review

When movie trailers are evaluated for how believable, emotionally engaging, intellectually compelling, relevant, and how meaningful they are, we are able to rate the movie for how good or bad it is going to be when released. Our Episode 1 is the Movie Trailer Review of CODA, which won the Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, & Best Adapted Screenplay the most recent Academy Awards. It is an excellent story with exquisite storytelling craft incorporated, which is a must-watch movie from recent times. CODA is a 2021 coming-of-age comedy-drama film written and directed by Sian Heder. An English-language remake of the 2014 French-Belgian film La Famille Bélier, it stars Emilia Jones as the titular child of deaf adults (CODA).
