Good evening surfers, this is your Northern and Central California surf zone forecast for Monday and Tuesday, June 8th and 9th. Starting with Sonoma and Marin County coastal areas, we're looking at six to nine foot surf for both days with mostly cloudy skies on Monday transitioning to partly cloudy conditions Tuesday. Temperatures will range from the mid-50s to low 70s. Winds will be lighter on Monday with northwest winds around 20 miles per hour becoming 16, then on Tuesday expect northwest winds at 12 miles per hour increasing to 20. No thunderstorms expected either day. Tides will be fairly typical with a high of 3.9 feet early Monday morning and a higher high of 5.1 feet in the evening. Moving down the coast to San Francisco and San Mateo County coastal areas, similar conditions with six to nine foot waves both days. Water temperature there will be a brisk 50 to 51 degrees, so keep that wetsuit handy. Mostly cloudy Monday with partly cloudy skies Tuesday. Temperatures in the upper 50s to upper 60s. Winds a bit lighter here, northwest at 18 miles per hour Monday and only 9 becoming 16 Tuesday. Again, no thunderstorm potential. Santa Cruz County coastal areas present some interesting variety. Northwest facing beaches will see six to nine foot surf Monday, while southwest facing beaches will be smaller at three to six feet. Tuesday everything backs off a bit to five to eight feet overall. Water temps here are a pleasant 53 to 54 degrees. Mostly cloudy Monday, partly cloudy Tuesday with highs in the mid-50s to upper 70s. Northwest winds at 14 becoming 17 Monday, then 8 becoming 18 Tuesday. Finally, Monterey Bay and Big Sur coastal areas will have smaller surf at four to seven feet Monday decreasing to three to six feet Tuesday. This area features the warmest water of the forecast at around 59 degrees. Partly cloudy conditions both days with highs in the upper 50s to upper 70s. Lighter winds here, northwest at 8 becoming 17 Monday, then west at just 4 becoming 16 Tuesday. Overall, expect a fun couple of days out there. No rain in the forecast, light to moderate winds, and solid swell especially in the northern zones. Remember to check with local authorities on any potential beach closures before you head out.
