Surf Report Tampa Florida
Good morning everyone, this is your West Central and Southwest Florida surf zone forecast for Tuesday, June 16th through Wednesday, June 17th. Let's start up north along the Big Bend beaches from Cedar Key down through the Nature Coast. Today is looking pretty nice with mostly sunny skies and just scattered showers and thunderstorms popping up here and there. The rip current risk stays low, and the waves are going to be minimal at a foot or less. Water temperatures are sitting in the mid 80s, which is perfect for a quick dip. Highs will reach the mid 80s with southwest winds around 15 miles per hour. Just keep in mind that UV index is running extreme, so definitely get that sunscreen on. Tonight things get a bit more unsettled with a moderate rip current risk developing. There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms moving in, and it'll stay warm with lows in the lower 80s. Those southwest winds continue at 15 miles per hour. Moving into Wednesday, the rip current risk remains moderate, but the thunderstorm potential drops off significantly. Expect mostly sunny skies with just a slight chance of any showers. Highs will be back in the mid 80s. Shifting down to the Tampa Bay area and those gorgeous Pinellas County beaches like Clearwater and Saint Pete Beach, we're looking at slightly more dynamic conditions. Today features a moderate rip current risk with surf heights ramping up to one to two feet. The good news is there's no thunderstorm potential and the weather will be mostly sunny and beautiful. Highs will push into the upper 80s with southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Again, that UV index is extreme, so come prepared. Tonight stays similar with moderate rip currents, one to two foot surf, and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will drop to the lower 80s with those southwest winds continuing. Wednesday morning the waves settle down a bit to around a foot, but that moderate rip current risk persists. It's going to be sunny and hot with highs near 90 degrees. South winds shift in at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Finally, down south to the Charlotte Harbor and Lee County beaches including the always popular Sanibel and Captiva, today is looking stellar. Sunny skies with a moderate rip current risk and minimal surf at a foot or less. Highs reach the upper 80s with gentle southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour. No thunderstorm concerns today, just that extreme UV to watch out for. Tonight stays clear and mild with mostly clear skies, moderate rip currents, and very light southwest winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Lows will be around 80 degrees. Wednesday brings more sunshine and that hot trend continues with highs near 90. The good news is the rip current risk drops back down to low. South winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour with a foot or less of surf. Overall, it's shaping up to be a warm and mostly pleasant couple of days across Southwest Florida. Just watch those rip currents if you're heading into the water, stay hydrated, and protect yourself from that intense UV. Enjoy your time at the beach.
