Surf Report Tampa Florida
Good morning, this is your West Central and Southwest Florida surf zone forecast for Thursday, June Fourth, Twenty Twenty-Six. Let's start up the coast with the northern beaches. If you're planning a day at Cedar Key, Yankeetown, Crystal River, or any of the Citrus County spots, expect glassy conditions with waves running a foot or less. The rip current risk stays low today, though keep an eye out near any groins or jetties where those sneaky currents like to hide. It's going to be partly sunny with highs in the mid eighties and east winds around fifteen miles per hour. The water's a toasty mid-eighty degrees, perfect for a long soak. Tonight things calm down even more with mostly cloudy skies turning partly cloudy by four in the morning. Lows dropping to the lower seventies with that same light to moderate east wind. Friday shapes up absolutely gorgeous with mostly sunny skies, light ten mile per hour east winds, and those same small surf conditions continuing. Cedar Key will see a high tide at four twenty-one this afternoon and again at five ten tomorrow evening. Moving down to the Tampa Bay area beaches including Clearwater, Saint Pete Beach, and surrounding waters, we're looking at nearly identical conditions. Partly sunny today with highs in the upper eighties and that consistent fifteen mile per hour east wind. Surf remains minimal at a foot or less with low rip current risk. The UV index is very high, so definitely grab that sunscreen before heading out. Water temperature stays in the mid-eighties. Tonight expect mostly cloudy conditions until four in the morning, then partly cloudy skies with lows in the lower seventies. Friday continues the beautiful trend with mostly sunny weather, upper eighties, and lighter east winds around ten miles per hour. Now here's where things get slightly more interesting. Down in Southwest Florida around Charlotte County, the Manasota Key area, and over toward the Lee County beaches like Sanibel and Captiva, we're introducing a moderate thunderstorm potential into the forecast. You'll still see those nice partly sunny skies and small one foot or less surf, but there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing both today and tonight. The rip current risk remains low, but those afternoon storms could pop up quickly, so keep an eye on developing clouds. Highs today in the mid-eighties with east winds around fifteen miles per hour. Tonight lows drop to the mid-seventies with that moderate storm chance continuing through early morning. The good news is Friday looks to clear right out with mostly sunny skies, no thunderstorm threat, and highs in the upper eighties. Overall, it's going to be a beautiful beach day across the region with tiny waves perfect for families and anyone looking for calm water. Just remember to slip, slop, and slap that sunscreen on because UV levels are very high. If you're down in Southwest Florida, just keep one eye on the sky for those afternoon storms, but nothing severe is expected. Water temperatures are ideal in the mid to upper eighties. Tonight will be pleasant for any evening beach walks with mostly cloudy to partly cloudy conditions. And Friday is shaping up to be an absolute beauty with mostly sunny skies across the entire forecast area. Get out there and enjoy it!
