The Science Behind What is Body Image

We are all constantly bombarded with visuals that we end up internalizing from a very young age. So much so that most of us have experienced dissatisfaction or body image concerns at some point in our journey. It’s a process and a journey like anything else we want to put our mind to - finding body neutrality, body acceptance and body freedom are the ultimate goals. And with finding peace in our body, it allows us to define our own narrative without the influence of chronic dieting, hustle mentality, information overload or societal pressure.  Citations: Psychology Today [https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/articles/199702/body-image-in-america-survey-results], National Eating Disorder Association [https://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/body-image-0], National Eating Disorder Collaboration [https://www.nedc.com.au/eating-disorders/eating-disorders-explained/body-image/], Sabrina Strings, Fearing the Black Body Interview [https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/fat-phobia] and The Body Image Therapy Center [https://thebodyimagecenter.com/education-awareness/eating-disorder-statistics/] I am a wellness and narrative strategist that uses life coaching and nutritional coaching techniques with regard to mindset and body image.
