Victim Mentality

In a world that often feels chaotic and unpredictable, it’s easy to fall into the role of a victim. When so much is out of our control, reacting becomes natural—and accountability can quietly get replaced with blame. But while circumstances can explain where we are, they don’t have to define where we stay. The moment we start compiling a longer list of excuses than opportunities, we give away our power. Progress doesn’t stop because life is hard—it stops when we convince ourselves we have no say in what comes next. There are real challenges, real disadvantages, and real setbacks that people face every day. Ignoring that would be dishonest. But living in that space too long turns explanation into limitation. At some point, the shift has to happen. You stop asking, “Why is this happening to me?” and start asking, “What can I do with this?” Because the difference between feeling like a piece on the chessboard and becoming the player is simple: one reacts to every move, the other decides what happens next—even if the options aren’t ideal. Ownership doesn’t mean life is fair. It means you refuse to let unfairness be the final word.

Social Media, The Thin Line Between Reality and Theater

We’ve been drawn to stories—movies, theater, storytelling—since as far back as the 6th century. Why? Because they give us an escape. They let us step outside of our everyday lives and imagine something bigger. We connect with characters, we admire their strengths, and sometimes we even aspire to become a little more like them. But what happens when the line between entertainment and reality starts to blur? What happens when the “stage” is no longer something we step into for a moment—but something we live in every day? When we stop compartmentalizing what we watch, and instead begin shaping who we are around what gets attention? At that point, we’re no longer just the audience—we’ve become part of the show. And that’s where things get complicated. Social media is a powerful influence. It can shape how we think, how we see ourselves, and even who we believe we’re supposed to be—all based on what an algorithm decides to put in front of us. It’s subtle, but it’s constant. And for our generation, this might be one of the biggest challenges we face. How much is too much? Who are we without the likes and comments? And maybe the most important question—what does this mean for the next generation watching us? Today, we’re diving into all of it.
