Wall-E (2008) with Monk

Hello there. Sean and Rob (me writing this) decided to restart this podcast after about 3 years on hiatus. We live far apart, so doing this show is a nice way to keep in touch and have fun. You probably won't care about any of this if you don't know us. If you do know us, this still might just come off as unintelligible nonsense. In this episode we hung out with Monk and talked about the movie 'Wall-E' (2008). Maybe you liked that movie? Is that a good enough reason to listen? Really don't care. We had a blast and I'm really glad we recorded ourselves goofing off.

Pacific Rim (2013) with Dustin D'Addato

Monsters? Check! Robots? Check! A portal to another dimension in a crack beneath the largest ocean on the planet? Oh, that's a big-ol'-fat check! Yup, Pacific Rim. Turns out its not just a location. If you actually watch the movie it's a hard hitting Apocalyptic CGI slug-fest. New York comedian Dustin D'Addato joins us to comprehend one of our more obscure end of days events yet. This one get filed under the category of Inter-Dimensional Godzilla Monster Apocalypses. In this discussion we will propose such questions as, 'How do Hemispheres work?', 'Why are alloys such a no no?', and 'Who is playing Football in Tokyo?'. We talk about all those things and a butt-load more nonsense as usual. Also, this episode we threw in some new audio transitions to break up the white noise of three dudes talking. So be sure to listen closely for those! Cool!

A Boy and His Dog (1975) with Danny Williams

Trigger warning? No. Gun shot warning! This 70s apocalyptic sci-fi may be a cult classic, but it doesn't quite pass the Bechtel Test. Insightful L.A. comic Danny Williams joins us to discuss A Boy and His Dog (1975). A movie adapted by one and done director L.Q. Jones from the similarly titled Harlan Ellison novella. In the post-nuclear fallout world of 2024, a boy (Don Johnson) trolls the deserted wasteland. 'What might he be looking for?' you ask. Gas? Food? Water? Cars? Of course not! His main priority is RAPE! And he will find it with the help of his... telepathic dog. Yup! Listen as we tip toe through the thick jungle of misogyny to find golden nuggets of apocalyptic lore that would help plant the seeds for future masterpieces like MAD MAX. Only the Mayans could have predicted this episode. This is a big one. The world actually comes to a screeching halt under the forces of crustal collapse! It's such a huge disaster we needed to bring in an expert to break it all down. Caitlin Marquis joins us to discuss 2012. We cover all the stuff. Why is the year 2012 so important? Where did the idea come from? How do planes work? What type of weapons are legal to buy at a State Fair? Anything you wanted to know about any tangential topic of 2012 is answered in this recording.

If you want the most realistically bleak peek at the dystopian future, here it is! Sean and Rob are joined by hilarious and brilliant NYC improviser Jaime Fallon to share in a good cry over the 2006 masterpiece, 'Children of Men'. This movie was good when it came out 15 years ago and like a fine wine, it continues to get better with age. Of course it will eventually get worse with age once everything in the movie inevitably comes to fruition and humans are no longer able to reproduce. So we're in that juicy little sweet spot. In this episode we break it all down for you; "Is the world barreling towards reproductive collapse?", "Why are Clive Owen's feet so dirty?", "Is that ringing in your ear actually a poetically designed biological swan song?".
