Acerca de The Red Lantern

On May 11, 2024, I lost my husband and best friend of 26 years. The pain of grief goes so deep and I am shocked every day by how grief has twisted itself into every aspect of my life. This podcast is an art project on how grief is affecting me, on how I accept the challenge of living with grief, while trying to figure out the “why’s” of why our lives are often so difficult, and at the same time, knowing that God is with us. All the while, patiently waiting to discover where the beauty of this pain will land me. My goal with this podcast is to establish a chronology and timeline of how I’m going to gain control back of my life and to accept the truth that is my life. Along the way, I hope to engage more with other people who are willing to share how they have been living with grief. I believe that there is still so much more laughter to be had, and through this pain we can still find beauty. Talking about grief is often painful, but as grievers, we can share with others that it is possible to continue to march on in a positive way. Email me at : theredlanternpodcast@gmail.com if you see the benefit of letting other grievers know they can and will work through their pain and if you would like to share how you are finding peace, perseverance, purpose, and positivity. And if you would like to leave a voice message about your loved one, something they did that inspired you, how they made you feel, or if you just wanna tell them that you love them and put that out there in the world, please call 682–2 31–1984 and leave me a message. I would like to play one or two of these messages at the end of each episode.

Episode 11: Midweek Mourning Morsel "Leaf Blowers"

In this episode of "The Red Lantern," Sarah Frost shares a personal reflection in her segment called the "midweek morning morsel." She reminisces about her neighbor, Ms. Kay, who was like family to her. Ms. Kay, known for her dislike of commercial leaf blowers, has moved away, and Sarah finds herself inheriting Ms. Kay's irritation towards them. Sarah connects this annoyance to her ongoing grief over the loss of her husband, Dan, who was killed almost two years ago. She discusses how grief manifests in unexpected ways, like her frustration with leaf blowers, and emphasizes the importance of channeling grief into something constructive. Sarah encourages listeners to go the extra mile in their lives, just as she strives to do in her journey through grief.
