Oh, The Places You'll Go Acts 8:26-40 Teacher: Pastor Matt Pierson Date: May 17, 2026 What happens when Philip—once serving tables, now faithfully sharing the good news— is led by the Holy Spirit into the quiet of the desert, where he meets a traveler from a far-off land? Is it just a chance encounter, or is God at work, carrying the message of Jesus to the very ends of the earth? Join Pastor Matt as we walk through Acts 8:26–40 and consider how the Holy Spirit may be guiding our own lives— leading us into meaningful moments where we can share Christ with others. episode Returning Home | Ruth 1 | July 5, 2026 artwork

Returning Home | Ruth 1 | July 5, 2026

Returning Home Ruth 1 Teacher: Pastor Tommy Bailey Date: July 5, 2026 The book of Ruth is a quiet story tucked between the tumultuous period of the Judges and the rise of Israel’s kings. In the first chapter of Ruth, a famine drives a small family from Bethlehem, the house of bread, into Moab, a pagan land far from the presence and promises of God. There, in a country that was never home, Naomi loses her husband and both of her sons, and is left with her grief, two widowed daughters-in-law, and a longing to return home. Join Pastor Tommy as we open Ruth 1 and follow Naomi and Ruth on the road back to Bethlehem. In her season of loss, Naomi hears that God has visited his people, and she sets her face toward home. Ruth, a Moabite who had every reason to stay behind, clings to Naomi: “Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.” Underneath all the sorrow and lament, God is quietly at work, moving toward this grieving family with a steadfast, covenant love that will not let go, making a way for the weary and the wandering to come home. Always Within Reach | Acts 12 | June 28, 2026

Always Within Reach Acts 12 Teacher: Dr. Phillip Nation Date: June 28, 2026 God always has us within reach. Neither the suffering inflicted by the world nor our prideful sin can separate us from His sovereign rule. In every instance of life, God is at work even though it may seem to be “behind the scenes.” The work of God in all circumstances happens by His providential interventions, through the spiritual realm of angelic work, and by inviting us to join via our own obedient actions. God is close to the righteous so that they are afforded peace, answered prayer, and involvement into His mission. Tragically, for the prideful and the lost, God’s nearness will result in their judgment. Acts 12 teaches us that both those persecuted for righteousness and those who are arrogant in their self-sufficiency are equally under God’s sovereign rule and will experience His power in one way or another. A Distinct Accent | Acts 11:19-30 | June 21, 2026

A Distinct Accent Acts 11:19-30 Teacher: Pastor Tommy Bailey Date: June 21, 2026 In Acts 11:19-30, the gospel reaches Syrian Antioch, the third-largest city in the ancient world. Believers scattered by persecution arrived, speaking the name of Jesus, and the hand of the Lord was with them. Something about their words and their lives set them apart, a spiritual accent the city had never heard. Their way of life was so unusual that the pagan city of Antioch had no category for them. Likely as a derogatory term, believers were called Christiansfor the first time. Join Pastor Tommy as we consider what made this young church so unique: what they said, how they lived, and who they turned to. These believers were so captured by Jesus that their whole way of life pointed to another home. When Religion Gets in the Way | Acts 11:1-18 | June 14, 2026

When Religion Gets in the Way Acts 11:1-18 Teacher: Pastor Tom Yarbrough Date: June 14, 2026 As we continue the narrative of the conversion of Cornelius the Gentile and his household, the final scene takes place back in Jerusalem, where not everyone in the church is pleased with Peter’s mission to Caesarea. We are introduced to a group of strict Jewish believers, known as the ”circumcision party”, who take exception with Peter’s fellowship with Gentiles, whom they consider unclean. This group identifies themselves primarily through their own adherence to Jewish custom rather than their new life in Christ. Peter’s response is to give a reasonable and orderly defense that not only shares the new spiritual vision he has been given but also leaves no room for doubt that this movement is the work of the Holy Spirit as confirmed by the words of Jesus himself. How can this passage encourage us today when we too may be tempted to cling to any identity other than a gospel identity? Join Pastor Tom Yarbrough as we study through Acts 11:1-18 together. A Light So Lovely | Acts 10 | June 7, 2026

A Light So Lovely Acts 10 Teacher: Pastor Matt Pierson Date: June 7, 2026 Throughout the book of Acts, we witness the wildfire-like growth of the Church; beginning in Jerusalem and spreading first through Judea, and reaching even into Samaria, a people long at odds with Israel. The Gospel is proclaimed, and the Samaritans believe and receive the Holy Spirit. In Acts chapter 10, Luke will recount an even more remarkable moment. The Holy Spirit brings together Cornelius, a Roman centurion who is a God-fearer, and Simon Peter, who is still a rule-follower despite his faith in Christ. God is going to use this meeting to fling wide open the door of the Gospel to the Gentiles, revealing that His invitation extends to all nations, tribes, and tongues. Join Pastor Matt as we study this encounter and its world-changing impact. The Gospel is for all people, the Holy Spirit is on the move, and every believer is invited to take part in what God is doing.
