Have you ever felt like you really didn’t belong? What is that like? What causes it? Is it because you don’t look like the others in a particular context? Is it because you are visiting a culture you didn’t grow up in and don’t know what is acceptable, what is “good” or “bad” in that particular place? Hungry Babies

Craving pure spiritual milk is what we should see when someone is really born again into the new life of Christ. When we are born again, we naturally hunger to be filled with the things of Jesus! To continue Peter’s food/eating analogy, it is clear that malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander will spoil our appetite for real nourishment. Therefore...

In the first part of chapter 1, we see that we have been chosen by God, selected for salvation for the purpose of obedience to Jesus Christ. This new birth is into hope through Jesus and into an eternal inheritance that is already stored for us in Heaven, imperishable and eternal. We are reminded that we are protected for all time by God! Peter commends those who have faith in Jesus even though they (we!) have not personally seen the Christ. Therefore…! That is, knowing all this, here is what we should do. This is the soundest of advice and the best of plans. This is the most reliable information from the most trusted source. Available to us right now and always.
