The Word of Grace
Pastor Colins Nwosu continued our teaching series The Trinity of the Godhead, diving into God The Father Part 2 to reveal the intimacy and accessibility of our Heavenly Father. Anchored in 1 Corinthians 8:6 (AMPC) and 1 John 5:7, we were reminded that through Christ, believers now have confident access to the Father. The teaching explored the heart of God as a loving Father who desires relationship, closeness, and fellowship with His children. Through the finished work of Jesus on the cross in Matthew 27:50–53, we saw that humanity’s separation from God was broken, granting us direct access into His presence. The message emphasised that our relationship with God is no longer built on fear or distance, but on grace, mercy, and sonship. Drawing from Hebrews 4:14–16 and Romans 8:15, we learned that we no longer approach God with trembling, slave like fear. We see that the Holy Spirit has adopted us into God’s family, empowering us to cry out, “Abba, Father,” an intimate and tender expression of a loving Dad. Through the beautiful illustration of the prodigal son in Luke 15:17–24, Pastor Colins highlighted the Fatherhood of God as compassionate, welcoming, and restorative. The sermon concluded by showcasing the heart of the Father: a God who does not wait for us to perform, but runs to embrace, kiss, and restore us the moment we turn back to Him. Confession: Lord, I thank You that the veil has been torn and I have direct access to Your throne of grace. I cast away all slave like fear and fully embrace my identity as Your child. I cry “Abba, Father” today, knowing that You run to meet me in my weakness, cover me with Your mercy, and celebrate my restoration. Amen!
