Unpolished but Called
Welcome to Unpolished but Called, where we have honest conversations about faith, real life, and following Jesus in the middle of messy seasons. In this episode, we're talking about a subject many Christians struggle to discuss openly: Why are Christians so uncomfortable with mental health? We often know how to respond to physical illness, but conversations about anxiety, depression, trauma, therapy, grief, and emotional struggles can feel much more complicated. Why is that? In this episode, I share some of my own journey following my stroke, what led me to seek therapy, and why I believe faith and mental health support can coexist. We'll talk about the difference between spiritual struggles and mental health challenges, the importance of being honest when we're hurting, and why church should be a safe place for healing rather than a place where people feel pressured to pretend they're okay. You can love Jesus deeply and still struggle. You can trust God and still ask for help. And sometimes healing begins when we're honest enough to admit we need it. 🔗Linktree: https://linktr.ee/unpolishedbutcalled [https://linktr.ee/unpolishedbutcalled] 📧 Subscribe to the newsletter and receive the free devotional: kathrinshaffer.com [http://kathrinshaffer.com] 🎙️ Listen to The Long Way Through Scripture Bible Study Podcast ❤️ Support the podcast and ministry resources through the website.
