#Building a Legacy

In this Father's Day talk, Geoff, our guest speaker talks the importance of building a lasting legacy that impacts future generations, drawing inspiration from the life of Daniel in the Old Testament. Despite facing extreme adversity as a captive in a foreign land, Daniel left a profound, enduring legacy by consistently choosing faithfulness and integrity.Geoff identifies four essential "building blocks" for creating a meaningful legacy: Deep Convictions: Choosing to live by one's convictions, as Daniel did when he resolved not to defile himself with royal food. Bold Faith: Stepping out in faith even when the path forward is unclear, illustrated by Daniel’s willingness to interpret the king’s dream. Courageous Truth: Speaking necessary, difficult truths boldly, such as when Daniel confronted Belshazzar regarding his failure. Consistent Prayer: Establishing prayer as an unbreakable habit, even in the face of death, which served as the foundation of Daniel’s life. Sharing the personal story of his own grandfather—a once dangerous man who was transformed by faith and became a committed, praying patriarch—the speaker highlights that a powerful, generational legacy is often built through lifetime habits rather than isolated dramatic moments.
