The Beauty of Different: Guest Alicia Lafoucade

Discovering grace for the journey you didn’t plan but were chosen for.   In this episode, I sit down with my longtime friend and former colleague, Alicia Lafoucade, for a deeply personal and powerful conversation about motherhood, resilience, and redefining what strength truly looks like.   Years after raising her two older children, Alicia found herself surprisingly pregnant again. What followed was a journey she did not plan — but one she was chosen for.   Her daughter Trinity was born with Down syndrome, and from that moment forward, life expanded in ways she could never have imagined.   This isn’t just a conversation about diagnosis. It’s about identity. It’s about courage. It’s about challenging misconceptions. It’s about seeing worth beyond labels.   As we acknowledge Down Syndrome Awareness, this episode invites us to move beyond awareness into understanding — and beyond sympathy into dignity.   We talk about fear, faith, family, advocacy, exhaustion, joy, and the grace it takes to walk a road you never mapped out.   Sometimes the journey you didn’t plan becomes the very place where your heart grows the most. episode Identity vs Direction artwork

Identity vs Direction

When Purpose Feels Unclear Like many of you, I’ve been through some things. I’ve walked through seasons that forced me to confront myself—seasons that stretched me, broke me open, and required me to rebuild from the inside out. I fought hard to come out of those experiences functioning at a higher level than when I entered them. I re-evaluated and repositioned every relationship in my life. I did the inner work. I strengthened boundaries. I deepened my faith. I clarified my identity as an Image Bearer. And now, with multiple creative initiatives in motion, new vision unfolding, and momentum building… I still find myself having many, many moments where I quietly think: “At times I feel a bit misplaced in the world and there are times when I just don’t know what to do with my life.” Not because I don’t know who I am. But knowing who you are doesn’t always automatically tell you what to build next. And when you’ve been through the fire… when life has shown you how fragile and temporary some pursuits really are… You don’t just want to build something exciting. You want to build something that lasts.   Today, I want to talk about Identity vs Direction — and what happens when purpose feels unclear, even though your identity is anchored.   In today’s episode, Identity vs Direction… when purpose feels unclear. Living Well Naturally: Guest Dr. Michelle Knights

In today’s episode, we’re exploring what it really means to live well, naturally—not through trends or pressure, but through clarity, intention, and care for the whole person.   I’m joined by my cousin, Dr. Michelle Knights, the founder of Vicelle Naturals. Michelle is a transformational leader, former university professor, TEDx speaker, and someone whose life’s work has been centred on helping people turn pain into resilience. In this conversation, we talk about her journey, the birth of Vicelle Naturals, and what it looks like to reconnect with your body, strengthen your well-being, and build a lifestyle rooted in clarity, resilience, and self-care.   This isn’t just a conversation about products—it’s about people, purpose, and choosing to live well, naturally. When Life Demands More: Guest Nichole Valentine

When life demands more than you ever thought you could carry, who do you become?   In this edition of Well Being with Ceejay Horrell, I sit down with someone whose resilience, honesty, and faith have shaped my own journey more than she even knows — nurse, mother, widow, entrepreneur, and author Nichole Valentine.   We explore the early years that shaped her, the realities of marrying young, becoming a caregiver at home and at work, navigating grief, raising a daughter as a single mother, and finding strength through calling, community, and God’s sovereignty.   We also dive into her new 5-week reflective group study guide, Sovereignty Uninterrupted, and the women in the lineage of Jesus who inspired it.   If you’ve ever felt stretched, overwhelmed, or unsure how to keep going when life keeps demanding more, this conversation will meet you right where you are — with honesty, hope, and a reminder that God’s steady hand never lets go.
