New Netflix Little House on the Prairie series preview

It’s time for another little podcast on the prairie. Steve Barnes and I meet up to chat about the new version of Little House on the Prairie coming to Netflix on July 9, 2026. We’ve both seen all 8 episodes of season 1 but are sworn to secrecy about our reactions until the official release. In this preview podcast, we talk about how the series came to be and the showrunners, the cast members who will show up in the roles, what we see in the trailer, and some social media gossip we eavesdropped on. This sneak peek is just for people who want to get ready for the new series. Steve Barnes is guitarist for stoner metal band Introvoid, and also plays guitar for the cover band Rebecca Crow. An Interview with Jocko Sims, Dr. Tann on the new Netflix Little House series

Steve and I were able to interview Jocko Sims, who plays Dr. George Tann on the new Little House on the Prairie series on Netflix. Die-hard Little House fans know that Dr. Tann was a real doctor who saved the Ingalls family when they all became ill with malaria. In honor of his importance to her family and the state Kansas, Laura included him in her books, and he appeared in one episode of the original Little House series, “The Wisdom of Solomon” (episode 3.18). One could say his character was more of a plot device than a character with a compelling arc, though. In the new Little House, Dr. Tann is part of main cast and appears in every episode of the first season. Jocko speaks about landing the role, riding horses, and how playing a doctor on a previous show, New Amsterdam, prepared him for being a prairie doctor. The new Little House on the Prairie series begins on Netflix July 9th, 2026. You can follow @jockosims [https://www.instagram.com/jockosims/] on Instagram. Little House on the Prairie Original Series Rewatch

Please don’t tell Pa, but there’s a new Little House on the Prairie series coming to Netflix in July of 2026. To prepare our hearts and minds for this potential violation of our childhoods, Steve and I decided it was our duty to revisit the original series. Steve’s been begging for this to become a reality, so perhaps it was inevitable. We talk through our histories with the show, some book research, and why we think the OG Little House has been arguably the GOAT of family shows. In addition to just general conversation, we each picked 3 favorite episodes to discuss. Those are: The Pilot, Ma’s Holiday, The Richest Man in Walnut Grove, The Spring Dance, Bunny, The Music Box, and Harriet’s Happenings. We will be back closer to the premiere of the new series to talk more about the new cast and what we think the new release might bring. Stay tuned for more Little House content. Alabama Pilgrimage Reflections by Dr. Deborah Boston: When Christ Enters the Equation

This episode is part of my Alabama Pilgrimage series, where I interview friends who traveled with me through the important sites of the Civil Rights Movement. Each episode, one pilgrim shares their memories and reflections from the trip, starting with myself. We hope you will enjoy listening to each of these stories [https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/5165304157621979015/5297776348294354880#]. Today's pilgrim is Dr. Deborah Boston. Dr. Boston is an educator with a doctorate in leadership studies and adult education. She's now semi-retired, but is an active member of many civic and community organizations, including the Mt. Level Community Partnership for Racial Justice. Dr. Boston is actually one of the founding members of the Mt. Level Community Partnership and the Alabama Pilgrimage. From its inception, she, along with Rev. Linda Van Hook have been imagining what it would look like to pursue a model for beloved community in her home city. She shares about growing up in Winston Salem and comparing the treatment she received in schools where she was loved and cared for vs. tolerated and neglected. As a life long learner, she wanted to keep growing and learning and finds doing that in community very rewarding. The 2024 pilgrimage was her second time attending, and she shares what was different from this time. In addition to sharing her experiences of the pilgrimage, she also offers information about how Durham locals can get involved with the partnership. Here is a link to their website [https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/5165304157621979015/5297776348294354880#] if you want to keep up with current and upcoming opportunities.  This is the last interview from the Alabama Pilgrimage Class of 2024, but it's far from the end of the story.
