Beschrijving

In this episode I interview Dhiego Silva [https://twitter.com/Dhiegocs], a paleontology PhD candidate from Brazil. Dhiego studies microfossils of the Itararé Group in the Panará Basin in Brazil to understand what the environments of the past were like through the microfauna and the characteristics of the microorganisms that once lived there.  Through my conversation with him, I was able to make sense of all this jargon and gain a better understanding of the process paleontologists use to help create a window to the past. One important lesson was that paleontology is not just dinosaurs, there are so many interesting and powerful organisms to study to better understand what the world looked like in the distant past.

The Science of Learning Science with Dr. Lisa Lundgren

On May 14, 2021 I hosted a conversation with and learned so much from Dr. Lisa Lundgren [https://twitter.com/LisaLundgren21] about her research into how we learn scientific concepts. We also answered question from listeners who joined our conversation on Twitter Spaces. This conversation was a real treat. I encourage you to listen to it when you normally listen to your favorite podcasts. I host these conversations every Friday at 6PM over on Twitter Spaces. Join me one of these days for a live conversation. If you do research, in any field whatsoever, I'd love to have you as my guest. I believe science and research has a place in everyone's life, and I am sure your work does too. #aspaceforscience [https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/aspaceforscience/] #science [https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/science/] #twitterspaces [https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/twitterspaces/] #audiosocial [https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/audiosocial/]
