AFL/NFL Merger

This week we read about the AFL/NFL merger which was first announced June 8th, 1966 and Congress allowed the merger to proceed in October then Lyndon B. Cuban Missile Crisis

The Cuban Miissile Crisis occured October 16th-28th in which the Soviet Union placed nuclear missiles in Cuba in response to American nukes being placed in Italy and Turkey. It is considered the closest the world came to Nuclear War during the Cold War. After reading the page, it's amazing how close we actually were to the whole world being demolished!
