"When people share and we start to find a place where there's a common issue, common ground, common understanding, then we start to work a way forward. This is how we move forward." Agnes Patongloan (ASB Indonesia and the Philippines), Axel Schmidt (ASB Deutschland e.V.), and Gerry McCarthy (P-FIM) discuss how People-First Impact Method (P-FIM) can be an effective way to build trust and collaboration between humanitarian or development actors and the communities that they serve.

The Future of Aid is People-centered, Not Agency-centered (Reflection on P-FIM in Niger March 2024)

Paul Agunda, Country Director of ASB Niger is sharing his thoughts on their P-FIM exercise that followed a training. Get inspired! The P-FIM starting point is the experience, knowledge, and action of people. In a trust relationship inter-agency teams listen to community groups without agency, sector, or project bias. The results are compelling and present a significant challenge and opportunity for the humanitarian, development, and peace building sectors. P-FIM delivers important, surprising, and insightful findings on where people are at and the value people are creating for themselves – their starting point. It is powerful and transformative for everyone involved and has significant global implications.
