My Mental Illness (and how it all began)

To set the theme for Season One, I tell some stories from my childhood of how I expressed my feelings, how I learned to advocate for myself, and how I was ruthless until I got help. I stopped at nothing, and I hope you don’t either. This episode admittedly does talk about depression quite a bit, so if you can&5 handle me talking about that empty feeling inside of my chest in detail, this isn’t the episode for you. For the rest of you, please join me as I revisit some of my oldest memories about my childhood, none really good. This is a story about being alone, and finding company. It’s a story about making people listen when they are refusing to take you seriously. It’s about keeping yourself accountable for your recovery because until you take that first step of asking for help, not a single person can help you. No one can read your mind, but here’s a little glimpse into mine for 40 minutes. If you like what you hear, be sure to tune in Monday 4/6 for Episode 2, where we’ll delve into my actual experiences in therapy and how I came to appreciate therapy so much. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app [https://anchor.fm/app]
