Beschrijving

Exposition of Psalm 21 (Part 2). David rejoices in God's strength, salvation, goodness, and abundant blessings, recognising that all he has received flows from trusting in the Lord. The Psalm also points beyond David to his greater Son, Jesus Christ—the King of kings who possesses all power, secures salvation, reigns in glory, and will one day judge the world in righteousness. While the first half of the Psalm celebrates God's blessings upon the righteous, the second half provides a sobering reminder of the certainty of God's judgment upon all who reject Him. This study encourages believers to rejoice in God's salvation, trust Him through every circumstance, and rest in the certainty of Christ's coming reign. It also serves as a loving warning to flee from the wrath to come and find refuge in Christ, through whom salvation is freely offered by grace through faith.

Face to Face with God (Exodus 33)

In Exodus 33, following Israel's sin with the golden calf, Moses turns to God in earnest prayer, pleading for His guidance, grace, presence, and glory. At the heart of the chapter is Moses' remarkable request: "I beseech thee, shew me thy glory." Though he had already experienced God's mighty works and intimate fellowship with Him, Moses still longed to know God more. This study highlights the importance of separation from sin, the privilege of communion with God, and the truth that spiritual victory is won in the place of prayer. It challenges believers never to become satisfied with their present knowledge of the Lord. God's presence is our greatest treasure, and knowing Him should be our greatest pursuit. The chapter culminates with God placing Moses in the cleft of the rock as His glory passes by—a beautiful picture of Jesus Christ, our Rock. Just as Moses could only draw near to God's glory from within the rock, so we can only approach a holy God through Christ, who provides refuge from God's wrath and access into His presence. A challenging and encouraging message for every believer who desires a deeper walk with the Lord.
