In a shortened Episode 25, Alister takes a solo journey with Orane heavy into radio duty as the globe prepares for the World Cup. However, Orane did appear via pre-recorded audio message to give his take on the NBA Finals and submit his prediction for the biggest dance on the basketball stage.# Alister also registered his prediction and both guys selected the Spurs with the likelihood to win this series; Orane suggesting a 7 Game series, where Alister believes it ends in 6. Their rationale for the discussions are explained in this brief episode, with Alister also displaying his annual prediction sheet, coming with positional match-ups, and the key factors to win the series. He’s also putting up his sterling 5-0 record for predicting the correct winner of the NBA Finals, with the hopes of going full-on Michael Jordan and getting a 6-0 record. Alister laid the blame for the teams toughness and focus clearly on its leader, Donavan Mitchell and said if they failed, it would squarely be his fault! And to end this episode off, the guys discussed whether Shai Gilgeous Alexander is a Hall of Fame caliber player, right NOW! If his season ended in defeat to the San Antonio Spurs in these Western Conference Finals, in their upcoming Game 7 - had he done enough in his career to be considered a HoFer? Former NBA Player and International veteran, Kimani Ffriend joined the programme to give us some REAL behind the scenes insights into what it takes to be an NBA player but also from the unique perspective of one who had a career that was unfortunately cut short by injuries.A college standout from Jamaica and draft prospect in 2001, Kimani was plagued by injuries in his NBA career which led to him going undrafted to the Miami Heat and then subsequently having stints with the Hawks, Kings, Clippers and Grizzlies, before becoming a Champion and MVP in the former D-League, Adriatic League, Jamaica Senior Team and Serbia! With an amazing list of team experiences that spanned almost all continents in the world and some of the most competitive Leagues that are not the NBA, Kimani was a great listen with his stories and insight from his career and what he prefers from todays stars. In this delayed broadcast, due to prioritising thepublishing of Megan Nestor’s interview, we discussed 3 interesting topics that have lasted and remain relevant during the Playoffs so far. First we discussed the Golden State Warriors upcoming decision on Head Coach Steve Kerr’s future with the franchise. After their elimination from the Play-In Tournament by the Pheonix Suns, the Warriors have been in a state of uncertainty, wondering whether Kerr would return to coach the team.Alister and Orane discuss the pros and cons of him staying and whether or not he should return to the helm. Next, Alister and Orane discussed the first round match-upof the Lakers and Rockets and what the outcome would do to the legacies of LeBron James and Kevin Durant respectively. The superstars are at advanced stages of their fading careers and Alister and Orane believed that the outcome of thisseries could have an equally weighty impact on their legacies, depending on who won or lost. And finally the guys went through their Playoff brackets to discuss who they believed would advance in the Playoffs. Disappointingly, Alister’s choice for champion this season was eliminated, was his rationale for them as his choiceunderstood and we all see how far their picks go, as the Playoffs continue!
