Second interview in the books! This time with a member of the RDA (Ritual Discomfort Adventures) community that Alec met while adventuring across South Africa. Jason is a South African Information Systems Post-Graduate by day and a killer mixed martial artist by night, exemplifying the delicate tightrope of training both the mind and body in modern life. Truly a Stoic of the modern times. In this interview we dive into the surprising overlaps of stoicism and eastern philosophy, as well as their applications to modern life and beyond. The shared experience of martial arts by both Jason and Alec provides a compelling backdrop for the underlying principles to be explored. From there the conversation evolves to discuss some different perspectives on pioneering success in your own life through goal setting, decision making filters, and how to decide which goals are actually worthy of your time and effort.
