You have prayed. Not casually — with everything you had, maybe for weeks, maybe for years. And the silence has not broken. You are not questioning whether God exists. You are asking something harder: is He listening, and why does it feel like nothing is happening? This video is a direct, scripturally grounded answer to one of the hardest experiences in the life of faith — the unanswered prayer. We look at David's repeated cry in Psalm 13 — how long, Yahweh, will you forget me forever — and Habakkuk's identical complaint. We look at Job searching for God directly and not finding Him: if I go east, he is not there. If west, I can't find him. We look at the writer of Lamentations saying plainly that God shut out his prayer. And we look at the most important moment in this conversation: Jesus on the cross, quoting Psalm 22 — my God, my God, why have you forsaken me — experiencing, in His most important hour, the language of an unanswered cry. We also look at Paul's thorn in the flesh, the three times he begged God to remove it, and the answer he received instead: my grace is sufficient for you. And we look at Romans 8:26 — the Spirit interceding for us with groanings that cannot be uttered, even when we have no words left to pray. This is not a formula for making the silence end. It's permission to be honest about how long it has been, the company of people who prayed in that same silence, and the instruction Jesus gave directly: pray, and do not give up — not because the silence will definitely end soon, but because persistence itself is an act of faith God receives. If you are in a season of unanswered prayer right now, you are not alone, and you are not failing at faith. 📖 Scripture references from the World English Bible (WEB) 🎧 Calm, verse-by-verse format 📺 Watch more Bible studies here: https://www.youtube.com/@BibleChapterByChapterStudy [https://www.youtube.com/@BibleChapterByChapterStudy] 🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6MnjQf5YAsxCAhha7jCSGD [https://open.spotify.com/show/6MnjQf5YAsxCAhha7jCSGD] 🌐 Visit us at: www.biblechapterbychapter.com [http://www.biblechapterbychapter.com] #UnansweredPrayer #WhyDoesGodFeelSilent #BibleStudy #BibleChapterByChapter #ChristianPodcast #Faith #Scripture #PrayerInSilence

aflevering 2 Thessalonians 3 Explained | If Anyone Will Not Work, Neither Let Him Eat artwork

2 Thessalonians 3 Explained | If Anyone Will Not Work, Neither Let Him Eat

In this episode of Bible Chapter by Chapter, we walk verse by verse through 2 Thessalonians Chapter 3 — the final chapter of the letter, and the final chapter of the entire Thessalonian correspondence. After two chapters covering suffering, the coming of the Lord, and the man of lawlessness, the letter closes with something unexpectedly practical. Some in the community had stopped working — apparently believing that if the end was near, ordinary life no longer mattered. Paul's response is direct: if anyone will not work, neither let him eat. We work through four movements in this chapter. Paul's prayer request — and what it reveals that he asks for first, not safety, but that the word of the Lord would spread and be glorified. The quiet life as witness — Paul's own example of working night and day so the gospel would carry no strings attached, and the instruction to those who had become busybodies: with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. Discipline without enmity — one of the most important balances in either letter: note that man, have no company with him, and in the very next breath, don't count him as an enemy, admonish him as a brother. And the closing benediction that ends both letters: the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. This episode also closes out the full study of 1 and 2 Thessalonians — two letters, eight chapters, written to a church that became news across an entire region, that Paul could not stop worrying about, that needed to grieve with hope, to stand firm against a false claim, and in the end, simply to keep doing well, quietly and without growing weary. Is there an area of your life where you have quietly stopped doing what faithfulness requires — because something else felt more urgent? Leave your honest answer in the comments. What To Do When You Don't Know How To Pray — The Spirit Prays When You Cannot | How To Pray Part 3

Sometimes the words don't come. Not because you don't want to pray, but because what's inside you is too big, too raw, too tangled for sentences. Grief with no shape. Anger you feel guilty for. A prayer you've said so many times it feels worn out.In Part 3 of How to Pray, we close the series with the question almost everyone eventually asks: what do I do when I don't know what to say? And the answer is one of the most comforting things in all of Scripture.Romans 8:26 tells us that the Spirit helps us in our weakness, because we don't know how to pray as we ought — and intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. Not knowing how to pray isn't a failure. It's the human condition this verse exists to address. We look at the prayers of people throughout the Bible who had no words to spare. David in Psalm 13: how long, LORD, will you forget me forever? The psalmist in Psalm 88, the only psalm that ends without resolution. Elijah, asking God to take his life after one of his greatest victories. The father in Mark 9: I believe, help my unbelief. Hannah, praying with no sound at all — only her lips moved. And Jesus Himself in Gethsemane, praying in such agony that His sweat became like drops of blood. If the Son of God prayed like that in His darkest hour, your darkest prayers — the ones that come out as sobs, or silence, or words that don't make sense even to you — aren't a failure of faith. They're what prayer looks like when it's real. This concludes our 3-part series: Part 1 covered what prayer actually is. Part 2 walked through the Lord's Prayer phrase by phrase. Part 3 is for the moments when neither of those feels like enough — and shows you that prayer is still happening, even then.📖 Scripture references from the World English Bible (WEB)🎧 Calm, verse-by-verse format📺 Part 3 of 3 — How to Pray📺 Watch more Bible studies here: https://www.youtube.com/@BibleChapterByChapterStudy🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6MnjQf5YAsxCAhha7jCSGD🌐 Visit us at: www.biblechapterbychapter.com#HowToPray #Romans8 #WhenYouDontKnowWhatToSay #BibleStudy #BibleChapterByChapter #ChristianPodcast #Faith #Scripture #PrayerForBeginners

aflevering How To Pray Part 1: What Prayer Actually Is — Relationship Before Request artwork

How To Pray Part 1: What Prayer Actually Is — Relationship Before Request

What is prayer, actually? Before anyone can tell you how to pray, someone needs to answer this question first — and most people never get a clear answer. In Part 1 of How to Pray, we go back to the foundation. Not technique. Relationship. From Abraham speaking boldly to God in Genesis 18, to Moses speaking with God face to face as a man speaks to his friend, to Hannah pouring out her soul in 1 Samuel until the priest thought she was drunk — the Bible shows us prayer as something far more personal and far less formal than most people have been taught. We look at what Jesus says in Matthew 6 — that your Father already knows what you need before you ask Him — and what that removes: the pressure to inform God, the fear of saying it wrong, the anxiety that prayer is a performance you might fail. We look at Matthew 7's ask, seek, knock and the comparison Jesus makes between an imperfect human parent and a perfect heavenly Father. And we look at Hebrews 4:16's invitation to draw near with boldness, and Romans 8:15's Abba, Father — the most intimate name available, given to us by the Spirit. If you have ever felt like prayer was a language you never learned, or that you were doing it wrong, or that you needed better words — this episode is for you. The foundation is not better words. It's the truth that the door is already open, and the One on the other side already knows your name. This is Part 1 of a 3-part series. Part 2 covers the Lord's Prayer as a practical template. Part 3 covers what to do when you don't know what to say. 📖 Scripture references from the World English Bible (WEB) 🎧 Calm, verse-by-verse format 📺 Part 1 of 3 — How to Pray 📺 Watch more Bible studies here: https://www.youtube.com/@BibleChapterByChapterStudy [https://www.youtube.com/@BibleChapterByChapterStudy] 🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6MnjQf5YAsxCAhha7jCSGD [https://open.spotify.com/show/6MnjQf5YAsxCAhha7jCSGD] 🌐 Visit us at: www.biblechapterbychapter.com [http://www.biblechapterbychapter.com] #HowToPray #WhatIsPrayer #PrayerForBeginners #BibleStudy #BibleChapterByChapter #ChristianPodcast #Faith #Scripture #AbbaFather
