5 afleveringenSince I challenge myself two weeks ago to revive my business and my design practice at once I have been thinking deeply, meditating, and researching about success and failure.... So why is it that I haven’t been more systematic about achievement in my life and work and have had plans only for a handful of things and left a bunch of others to chance?
“Marisol, when was the last time you took time off?” Mm mm…. I stopped for a second to think about the question. I have been technically on leave for two and a half years being a full time mother. Plus part time business owner. And that is definitely NOT time off! So I thought about it longer, and longer, and finally I did. I stopped. Fully. To chill out and go to the beach and have fun with the family.... And this is what happened....
When I tell people I lost everything the question I get almost instantly is “what do you mean by everything?”. And it’s such a difficult questions to answer, because our definition of “everything” is linked to material things, to money, a job, or to relationships. So getting someone to grasp the true concept of “everything” without having a heavy conversation (who likes heavy stuff ah!) is a challenge I am always up for.
There are so many ways to construct the questions we ask ourselves to find our purpose, and I was focusing only on the ones others were asking: why are you running a business? Why aren’t you pursuing your career as an architect?...
On the aha-moment that changed my approach to entrepreneurship and the big question I pursue.
