When you don’t know what to pray, Psalm 23 gives words to your tired soul and points you back to Jesus, the Good Shepherd who leads you from anxiety, hurry, fear, comparison, and shame into the life you were made for. Main Ideas: Prayer can feel awkward, boring, confusing, or intimidating. If you can feel it, you can pray it. The question isn’t whether you have a shepherd. The question is whether your shepherd is giving you life. Anxiety says, “You don’t have enough.” The Shepherd says, “In me, you have what you need.” Hurry says rest comes later. The Shepherd says rest starts here. Sometimes when life is at its darkest, God’s nearness becomes the clearest. You don’t have to fight for a seat God has already given you. Your past may be loud, but it is not faster than the love of God. When you don’t know what to pray, start with the Shepherd. Invitation: Read and pray Psalm 23 slowly once a day. Each day, ask yourself: “What has been trying to shepherd my soul today?” —- ✍️  | 5 DAY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE → https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem [https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem] 🍞 | GATHER TOGETHER → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather] | 4:30pm on Sundays. 👋 | SAY HI → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/] 🤝 | DONATE TO CROSSCREEK → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/] #bible #biblestudy #christianity #christian #church #followingjesus #god #religion #jesus #christ #jesuschrist

aflevering What If Faith Isn’t About Having All the Answers? [So what about…?, part 8] artwork

What If Faith Isn’t About Having All the Answers? [So what about…?, part 8]

Following Jesus is not about having all the answers, proving yourself, or knowing more religious information, but about truly knowing Jesus and taking your next faithful step toward Him. Main Ideas: At some point, faith can’t just be something we talk about. It has to become a life we actually live. When we build our identity on being right, growth becomes nearly impossible. The goal of following Jesus is not just to know more about Him. It’s to know Him. You find Jesus by choosing to trust him. Faith doesn’t begin when every question is answered. Faith begins when we choose to trust Jesus with what we do know. Knowing Jesus doesn’t mean life stops being hard. It means hard things are not the end of the story. Following Jesus is not a destination; it’s a lifelong journey of discovering Jesus. Every step toward Jesus is a step toward real life. Invitation: Pray, “Jesus, what step do you want me to take toward you right now?” Then trust him enough to take it. —- 📜 |TRANSCRIPT → K ✍️  | 5 DAY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE → https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem [https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem] 🍞 | GATHER TOGETHER → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather] | 4:30pm on Sundays. 👋 | SAY HI → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/] 🤝 | DONATE TO CROSSCREEK → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/] #bible #biblestudy #christianity #christian #church #followingjesus #god #religion #questions #jesus #christ #jesuschrist #heLL

aflevering How Does the World Really End? [So what about…?, part 7] artwork

How Does the World Really End? [So what about…?, part 7]

What if the end of the world isn’t about fear, but about hope, healing, and God making everything right? Main Ideas: Revelation is not mainly about the end of the world. It’s about Jesus. If your reading of Revelation makes you afraid of the future but not faithful to Jesus, something has gone wrong. The Preterist View asks: What DID this mean THEN? The Futurist View asks: Where is history going? The Idealist View asks: What pattern is always true? Revelation shows suffering people that Jesus is not absent, evil is not ultimate, and the future is not out of control. Revelation is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of the world we were made for. Revelation was not written to create smarter spectators. It was written to form faithful witnesses. Revelation isn’t a mystery to solve. It’s a mission to live. Invitation: Become a preview of New Jerusalem somewhere specific this week. Ask: Where is fear, outrage, greed, or resentment forming me? Choose one act that looks like the world Jesus is bringing. —- 📜 |TRANSCRIPT → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/media/2026-06-07.pdf [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/media/2026-06-07.pdf] ✍️  | 5 DAY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE → https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem [https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem] 🍞 | GATHER TOGETHER → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather] | 4:30pm on Sundays. 👋 | SAY HI → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/] 🤝 | DONATE TO CROSSCREEK → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/] #bible #biblestudy #christianity #christian #church #followingjesus #god #religion #questions #jesus #christ #jesuschrist #heLL

aflevering What Is the Church? Jesus’ Original Vision (And How We Lost It) [So what about…?, part 6] artwork

What Is the Church? Jesus’ Original Vision (And How We Lost It) [So what about…?, part 6]

The Church is meant to be a Spirit-empowered movement, not just a place to attend. How can we rediscover Jesus’ original vision for the Church? Main Ideas: The Church started as an irresistible, Spirit-filled community of love, healing, and transformation. Somewhere along the way, we lost sight of what Jesus created the Church to be. The Church is a Spirit-filled people Jesus is forming to help our neighbors discover, enjoy, and share the life he offers. Church isn’t just somewhere you go. It’s something you become together. Jesus created the Church to bring life to the world. The Church cannot fulfill its purpose through human effort alone. The Spirit came to form a new kind of human community… a people shaped by the life and love of Jesus. The Church works best when everyone participates. Participation creates transformation. The Church is what happens when ordinary people are filled with the Spirit of Jesus to fulfill the mission of Jesus. Invitation: Choose to become rooted in what Jesus is forming at Crosscreek. Ask the Holy Spirit: “What would it look like for me to participate instead of just observe? —- 📜 |TRANSCRIPT → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/media/2026-05-31.pdf [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/media/2026-05-31.pdf] ✍️  | 5 DAY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE → https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem [https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem] 🍞 | GATHER TOGETHER → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather] | 4:30pm on Sundays. 👋 | SAY HI → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/] 🤝 | DONATE TO CROSSCREEK → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/] #bible #biblestudy #christianity #christian #church #followingjesus #god #religion #questions #jesus #christ #jesuschrist #heLL

aflevering Hell Explained: What the Bible Actually Says (And Why Christians Don’t Agree) [So what about…?, part 5] artwork

Hell Explained: What the Bible Actually Says (And Why Christians Don’t Agree) [So what about…?, part 5]

Explore what the Bible actually says about hell, examine the three main Christian views, and wrestle with how each one shapes our understanding of God, justice, and the ultimate victory of Jesus. Main Ideas: A belief that can’t hold up to honest questions… isn’t worth holding onto. What you believe about hell shapes how you see God… and how you live your life. Whatever hell is, it has to be consistent with who Jesus is. Eternity isn’t just a destination to figure out… it’s a Person to trust today. Invitation: Step 1. Write down what you currently believe about hell. Step 2. Ask yourself: Why do I believe this? Did I choose it… or did I inherit it? Does it actually reflect the Jesus I see in the Gospels? Step 3. Talk about it with someone you trust. —- 📜 |TRANSCRIPT → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/media/2026-05-17.pdf [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/media/2026-05-17.pdf] ✍️  | 5 DAY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE → https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem [https://substack.com/@crosscreeksalem] 🍞 | GATHER TOGETHER → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/#gather] | 4:30pm on Sundays. 👋 | SAY HI → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/welcome/] 🤝 | DONATE TO CROSSCREEK → https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/ [https://www.yourcrosscreek.com/donate/] #bible #biblestudy #christianity #christian #church #followingjesus #god #religion #questions #jesus #christ #jesuschrist #heLL
