Professional Profile - 40 Years of Integrated Gender Diversity & Transgender Science Dr. Diana Sorrentino, Ph.D. is a recognized subject matter expert on Gender Diversity and Transgender Identities providing counseling, mentorship and support for gender diverse, transgender individuals and their families through her consulting practice.  As a subject matter expert; with doctoral degrees in Sociology and Psychology, she also provides professional development educational programs and clinical support for the medical and behavioral healthcare professionals providing gender affirming care. Supplementing her formal studies in Sociology and Psychology; she has been studying and researching gender diversity and transgender development and the genetic, neurobiological and hormonal influences on the development of incongruent gender identities since the 1980s. Commencing in 1990, she began developing and delivering professional development educational training on gender diversity and transgender development for healthcare providers and the LGBTQ+ community. Her educational programs have been presented locally and nationally at conferences and symposiums for healthcare professionals, as well as for human resource professionals, business and professional trade organizations. This combination of her formal academic education, coupled with her years of experience, research and the professional development training she provides, has positioned her as a nationally recognized subject matter expert in the field.
