Greenhouses of prayer in our everyday lives

Regular times of prayer can be thought of like greenhouses containing the soil of our heart, where amongst in the wild winds of life that may blow around us in other parts of our day, these are protected spaces in which our heart is learning to constantly lean towards Jesus like a sunflower turns to follow the sun. But what could spaces of prayer, or 'daily greenhouses' look like if you're working a corporate job and flying half of the year, or perhaps a mother nursing a newborn? What could these daily green houses look like if you are working shift work or the primary carer of an elderly relative? Life isn't always simple and it's not always possible to carve out hours of your day to sit in solitude with the Lord, but is is possible in all cases to live a prayerful life. This episode discusses what some of these greenhouse could look like in our everyday lives.

A life of prayer is a life of Spiritual Transformation

As we pray without ceasing, as our lives become a prayer, we spend time in the presence of God, abiding in Him, listening to Him, enquiring of Him, speaking to Him and as we become more consistently in communication and communion with Jesus a funny thing happens … we start to become bit by bit more like Him!  We start to be transformed into His likeness. The Posture of Our Heart

As a life of prayer is born from passionate love for Jesus the posture of our heart to receive, cultivate and grow this love is key. Often we have been taught a daily morning prayer time is the goal … spoiler alert! It's not - relationship with Jesus is the goal! Daily times of prayer are helpful and important and can act as greenhouses, places that are protected spaces for our heart to learn to receive the love of Jesus and for us to train our minds, souls and spirit to live in a place of constant communion with God . So how do we cultivate a posture of our heart that would see a passionate burning love for Jesus to grow and be inconstant communication with Him? So glad you asked! Listen in for Episode 4!

Love Love Love, it's all about LOVE

All we do in the Kingdom of God is to come from love not a works paradigm. We are the Mary before we are the Martha. Not just for serving in church, but even in prayer! Often we are more hungry for God than we realise we just don’t realise how hungry we are because we are satisfying ourselves on temporary things – the sugar fixes of life, the lesser loves, that may satisfy us for a moment but don't ultimately satisfy the hunger of our souls. Only Jesus can do that.

Make your life a prayer

1 Thess 5:16-17 TPT Let joy be your continual feast, make your life a prayer. And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus. So how do we pray this without ceasing? How do we make our life a prayer? What did Paul even mean by that? Dig a little deeper with us around the context of the book of Thessalonians and be encouraged!
