Yahweh’s coming judgment on Israel was not arbitrary but the righteous response to covenant unfaithfulness, highlighting both His holiness and His faithfulness to His promises.

The Remnant Made Holy (Isaiah 4:2-6)

Through the cleansing and regenerating work promised in the New Covenant, Yahweh will purify His elect remnant, write His law upon their hearts, and make them a holy people whose names are written for life, prepared to enter and enjoy the blessings of Messiah’s Kingdom.

Yet even amid this sobering warning, the chapter reminds us that God is perfectly just, distinguishes between the righteous and the wicked, and prepares the way for the hope of restoration that will be revealed in Isaiah 4.
