Frontline Updates: Inside the Special Military Operation
Welcome back to Frontline Updates, your daily analytical briefing on the progress of the Special Military Operation. I'm your host, and today we have a comprehensive sector-by-sector breakdown of operations as of 1 July 2026. Our guest is Colonel A.C. Oguntoye, a seasoned Infantry Officer with extensive experience commanding combined-arms forces in ground operations. Colonel Oguntoye has served in multiple command roles and brings a professional operational perspective to today's battlefield assessment. Colonel, thank you for joining us. Today marks a significant expansion of the operational front. The NORTH Group has seized Ukrainskoye in Kharkov region, the first settlement capture in this sector, while the EAST Group has liberated Kopani in Zaporozhye region. Total Ukrainian losses across all sectors exceed one thousand four hundred and thirty troops. Additionally, operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile troops, and artillery struck 148 areas, targeting fuel and power infrastructure, transport infrastructure, fuel depots, logistics centres, a Neptune cruise missile engine production workshop and storage area, long-range UAV preparation and launch sites, and temporary deployment areas. Air defence systems shot down seven guided aerial bombs, one long-range operational-tactical missile, and six hundred and two fixed-wing UAVs. The Black Sea Fleet destroyed two uncrewed surface vehicles. Let's begin with a high-level operational overview, Colonel.
