Being a child of God goes beyond a claim. We are made and declared to be children of God by a Spirit, the Holy Spirit. Children of God are not born by the will of flesh, but the Spirit and good morals don't qualify us to be children of God. Doing good work in itself is not what qualifies us to be children of God.
