Next Level Women: Building Wealth, Confidence & Financial Freedom
Most adults were taught how to earn money. Few were taught how to steward it. Yesterday, I had an insightful exchange with leadership strategist and Rev. Kevin T. Taylor that completely shifted the way I think about teaching children about money. One statement stood out: 👉 "Money is a tool, not a scorecard." The more I reflected on that idea, the more I realized how many adults unknowingly tie their worth to their net worth. But what if we taught children something different? What if we taught them: ✔ stewardship instead of status ✔ ownership instead of consumption ✔ responsibility instead of entitlement ✔ long-term thinking instead of instant gratification Rev. Kevin shared a Summer Financial Literacy Challenge his church ran with young people. Students were given simulated investment capital, made real investment decisions, tracked outcomes, reflected on risk and responsibility, and learned lessons about stewardship. What fascinated me most wasn't the investing. It was the transformation. The goal wasn't information. The goal was formation. Helping young people develop: • judgment • responsibility • confidence • patience • stewardship I believe those are the real life skills many children need today. Question for parents: What's one lesson about money, stewardship, or responsibility that you wish someone had taught you as a child? I'd love to hear your answer below. #Parenting #FinancialLiteracy #FinancialConfidence #Stewardship #LeadershipDevelopment #Entrepreneurship #MoneyMindset #LifeSkills #FutureReadyKids #WealthBuildersAcademy
