Taking up our cross

Matthew 10:37-39 Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

Turning offence into purpose

Knowing how to deal with offence is arguably the most evident sign of spiritual maturity We have to stop seeing our enemies as the evil that wants to destroy us, that might be their intention but little do they know that God is using them for our good.

Self is the problem

Self is the seed of Satan and its fruit is sin, it's our sinful nature which wages war against the spirit. Therefore, self has to be denied and put under submission to the authority of Christ.
