Know Your Repro Rights is a new podcast here to educate and empower you to make informed decisions about your own healthcare, and advocate for your own reproductive health. Hosted by: Emma Schultz Edited by: Daniel Palmer Transcript: Hello, and welcome to Know Your Repro Rights, a brand new podcast hosted by me, Emma Schultz! This podcast aims to empower you to be your own best advocate in the doctor’s office, and to be able to make informed decisions about your reproductive health. While I am a passionate advocate for equitable reproductive care and health care in general, I’m not an expert. As a patient, I’ve had my fair share of experiences feeling clueless and lost in medical situations, and being frustrated with the care I received and the lack of agency I felt. From sharing these experiences with those around me, I realized how common and pervasive of an issue this is, particularly within marginalized groups who tend to have especially poor medical experiences for a variety of reasons. Within reproductive health specifically, these issues can be exacerbated by politically and religiously motivated misinformation and stigma, which can further interfere in patients knowing their options and receiving quality care. Through this podcast, I’ll be speaking with a wide variety of experts, from doctors and clinicians, to advocates and historians, about every aspect of reproductive health I can think of in order to give people the tools to be as informed and empowered as possible in their reproductive lives.
