Beschrijving

This sermon continues through the Beatitudes by examining Jesus’ words, “Blessed are the meek” and “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.” Using the image of a trained warhorse, it shows that biblical meekness is not weakness, but strength held under the control of God’s Spirit. The sermon then connects that controlled strength to a deep hunger for righteousness — both the longing to be made right with God and the longing to see the world made right under Christ. Ultimately, Jesus promises that this hunger will be satisfied in Him, as He fills His people with His righteousness now and will one day renew the whole earth in righteousness. When Hell Answers to Heaven (The Fifth Trumpet | First Woe) | | Revelation 9:1-12 | Matthew Maher

As the fifth trumpet sounds, Revelation moves into a new phase of judgment known as the first woe. A fallen star is given the key to the bottomless pit, smoke rises from the abyss, and a terrifying army of demonic locusts emerges to torment those who do not belong to God. These are not ordinary locusts. They have crowns like gold, faces like men, hair like women, teeth like lions, breastplates of iron, and tails like scorpions. Their king bears a chilling name: Abaddon in Hebrew and Apollyon in Greek—both meaning "Destroyer." Yet beneath the horror of this passage lies a powerful truth: hell does not operate independently of heaven. The fallen star is given a key. The locusts are given authority. Their torment is limited to five months. Even in judgment, God remains completely sovereign. In this message, we explore: The Fifth Trumpet Judgment (Revelation 9:1-12) The identity of the fallen star The meaning of the bottomless pit (abyss) The terrifying locust army Abaddon/Apollyon: the king called Destroyer Why these judgments are called "woes" God's sovereignty over hell and judgment The contrast between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of Christ Revelation 9 reminds us that every kingdom reflects its king. The kingdom of the Destroyer produces destruction. The kingdom of Christ produces life. The First Four Trumpets: Mother Nature Answers To Father God | Revelation 8:6-13 | Matthew Maher

The silence of heaven has ended. In Revelation 8, the prayers of the saints rise before God, and heaven responds with judgment. As the first four trumpets sound, the land, sea, waters, and heavens are struck one by one. Why are these judgments limited to one-third? What do they reveal about God's justice and mercy? And what happens when the very creation mankind worships becomes an instrument in the hand of its Creator? In this message, we explore the first four trumpet judgments and discover a powerful truth: Creation does not answer to man. Creation answers to God. Passage: Revelation 8:7-13 In This Message: • The first four trumpet judgments • Connections to the plagues of Exodus • Why judgment is limited to one-third • God's mercy in the midst of wrath • The danger of worshiping creation rather than the Creator • How believers can stand firm in a shaking world Key Truth: "The safest place in a shaking world is not confidence in creation, government, technology, wealth, or human ingenuity. The safest place is under the authority of the Creator Himself." Be sure to subscribe to the Landmark Church YouTube Channel and wherever you access podcasts to stay updated on all upcoming sermons. Psalm 42: Preaching To A Downcast Soul | Matthew Maher | Landmark Church

Have you ever loved God and yet felt distant from Him? Psalm 42 is one of the most honest passages in all of Scripture. The psalmist thirsts for God, battles despair, wrestles with difficult questions, and yet refuses to let go of hope. In this message, we discover that faith and discouragement can occupy the same heart at the same time, and we learn how to preach truth to a downcast soul. Whether you're walking through grief, spiritual dryness, disappointment, or simply a season where God feels far away, Psalm 42 reminds us that our hope is not found in changing circumstances, but in an unchanging God. In this message: The difference between listening to yourself and preaching to yourself Why our tears can make terrible theologians What "deep calls unto deep" really means Trusting God's heart when you cannot trace His hand Finding hope in the midst of adversity Key Verse: "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God..." — Psalm 42:11 Be sure to subscribe to the Landmark Church YouTube Channel and wherever you access podcasts to stay updated on all upcoming sermons. Proverbs 15 The Heart, The Path, The Harvest | Terence Sikoryak | Landmark Church

Most people don't suddenly arrive at wisdom, peace, or ruin. We move toward them one decision at a time. In this message from Proverbs 15, we explore how the heart shapes our words, our path determines our direction, and our harvest reveals the life we have cultivated. Through the lens of the Kingdom of God, Jesus calls us beyond behavior modification into a transformed heart that brings life, peace, and wisdom to a broken world. In the time remaining, we cannot afford to live accidentally—our future is not an event; it is a direction.
