What is this breast implant thing?

I have been practicing plastic surgery for 28 years. I have lived through the silicone gel scare. I used all types of breast implants in my practice. Even though the silicone gel scare occurred in the early 1990s, it hangs on till this day. Complicating this entire issue is a real problem and has reared its head over the past several years. This is called breast implant associated�anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). This is a malignancy that has been linked to textured breast implants. He has been in the press several times over the past several years. It has caused a great deal of confusion among people with breast implants or who are considering getting breast implants. In this pod cast we will take a deep dive into this problem, explaining exactly what this illness is and its incidence. We will talk about how it presents and how it is treated. Summer is Coming!

I know that many of us are used to hearing the phrase �Winter is Coming� from HBO�s epic series Game of Thrones. We all know that getting ready for winter is completely different. Winter poses different stresses on her body and skin. But here in the real world, spring and summer do occur if you live in one of the parts of the country that celebrates four seasons. As summer approaches we start to think about less clothing, showing more of our skin and the different stresses on our skin from increased exposure to UV radiation. Quality Or Quantity?

In this episode, we are going to tackle the very large subject of skin. I really want to concentrate on the difference between problems with skin quantity versus skin quality. Treatment approaches are completely different for each issue but many times, need to be combined. Those treatments may look different depending on the part of the body treated.
