Why do so many women believe native English speakers have something they don’t? In this episode, I’m exploring the myth of the confident native speaker, and why fluency does not automatically equal power. Speaking quickly, naturally, or without searching for words can look like authority, but communication is not only language. It is nervous system, identity, permission, and the ability to stay connected to yourself while you communicate. We look at how comparison pulls you out of your own centre and turns English into performance. Instead of asking, “What do I want to say?”, you start asking, “How do I sound?” And that changes everything. This episode is an invitation to stop romanticising the native speaker and start building a different relationship with your own voice in English. Not by erasing your accent. Not by becoming someone else. But by bringing your full self, your intelligence, warmth, humour, edge, boundaries and authority into the conversation. aflevering Why Men Are Heard Differently artwork

Why Men Are Heard Differently

Why do men often seem to be heard differently in professional conversations? In this episode, I’m exploring something many women feel but don’t always know how to name: the way authority is often heard differently depending on who is speaking. A man sounds decisive, thoughtful or clear, while a woman saying the same thing may question whether she was too direct, too slow, or not clear enough in English. We look at how bias, conditioning and inherited ideas about leadership can quietly shape the room. Who gets interrupted. Who gets questioned. Who gets believed quickly. Who has to prove the point twice. And we explore why it matters to separate what belongs to you from what does not. Your clarity, preparation and growth belong to you. Other people’s inability to hear authority in a female voice does not. This episode is about noticing the pattern without absorbing it, holding your space with simple, clear language, and remembering that men may be heard differently, but that does not mean your voice has less power. What It Really Means to Be Taken Seriously And Why Chasing Respect Often Backfires

Why does being taken seriously feel so loaded when you speak in English? In this episode, I’m exploring the deeper pressure so many women feel to sound credible, professional and perfect in English. We look at how the desire to be respected can quietly become another form of self-abandonment, especially when every sentence starts to feel like a test. Your English matters, of course, but your authority cannot depend on flawless grammar, other people’s approval, or whether the room immediately reflects your value back to you. This episode is about moving from chasing respect to inhabiting legitimacy. It is about trusting that your point deserves space before anyone confirms it, staying connected to your message when English feels imperfect, and remembering that you can be human and still be authoritative. Transactional vs Transcendental Communication

Why do some conversations leave you feeling like nothing really moved? In this episode, I’m exploring the difference between transactional and transcendental communication. Transactional communication keeps things functional, safe and predictable, but often nothing truly shifts. Transcendental communication is different. It opens something, invites reflection, challenges automatic thinking, and creates the possibility for real change. We look at why this kind of communication requires self-trust, courage and presence, especially for women who have been taught to stay polite, smooth and non-threatening. aflevering Attention Is Power artwork

Attention Is Power

What if confidence in English has less to do with ability, and more to do with where your attention goes? In this episode, I’m exploring why attention is one of the foundations of confidence, presence and influence. So many women lose power in important moments, not because they are incapable, but because their attention gets pulled into self-monitoring, self-criticism and fear. We look at how that split in attention affects fluency and impact, and why learning to direct your attention more consciously can change the way you speak, respond and show up in English.
