This is a sentimental podcast for me and one that definitely brought up all sorts of emotions. Episode 23 is with Sarina Katsambanis who is a long time family friend. I grew up playing soccer with her son Terry and from then on, our families have become incredible friends. Over the last couple of years, life has thrown some big curve balls onto Sarina and her family. In February 2023, Peter Katsambanis (Sarina’s husband) sadly passed away after a long term battle with cancer. In the same year, Sarina’s ovarian cancer came back and she was determined to do whatever it took to make it to 2024. Thankfully for all of us, she did. Sarina sheds light of how cancer has affected her family, the grief of losing a life partner, the importance of family and friendships, lessons she wish she learnt in her 20s, what is truly valuable in life, her mindset shift as well as reflect on the countless memories she has had thus far. I hope this episode opens your eyes to what truly matters in life, makes you hug your loved ones a little tighter as well as hope you took away some valuable lessons away from this conversation.
