A Limerick man is paddling the length of the River Shannon for Parkinsons

Trevor Morrissey and his friend Mike O’Sullivan set off from County Cavan last week and are spending ten days canoeing and camping their way south, all while raising awareness and vital funds for people living with Parkinson’s. The challenge is particularly personal for Trevor, whose mother has lived with Parkinson’s for many years. He joins us now from the banks of the Shannon to tell us about the journey so far. Limerick woman who was one of the last to interact with a famed English serial killer

A Limerick woman has told her harrowing realisation that she was one of the last people to interact with the famed English serial killer in the 1960s. Her story is one of many interesting true tales that are told in a book compiled by residents of Embury Close, sheltered housing in Adare. We had a couple of the organising committee with us in the studio on Monday, talking about the book, and it launched last evening. Civil liberties groups raise concern around Limerick taser pilot

The use of Tasers by Gardaí is set to expand to Limerick in the coming months after a pilot programme in Dublin, and Waterford was extended until the end of the year. But civil liberties groups have raised concerns, warning that Tasers could fundamentally change policing in Ireland and may not always be the safest response, particularly during mental health crises.
