And into the story we go. :) {Behind-the-curtain writing/reading notes: I am wondering if section breaks should, in this writing-podcast adventure, simply become new chapters, resulting in an absurd (but maybe happy?) preponderance of them. :) I will ponder; and if chapters at some point seem to become smaller in this spoken version, that’s likely the reason why.} Get full access to Poem by Poem & Chapter by Chapter with Robin Bethel at poembypoemchapterbychapter.substack.com/subscribe [https://poembypoemchapterbychapter.substack.com/subscribe?utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=CTA_4]

Chapter 0: Part 2

Here is my next micro-burst of story, which begins after Seren has had two little flashes of day, ending in her picking up Arthur from school. As I read this, I’m very aware of a piece that lands in confusing fashion, I think, without having the visual reference and punctuation. Perhaps it’s confusing in print too. :) Something to revisit later, for sure, but not now. I’m continuing to use a snap as a little soft section break. And I’m not continuing to use a few beats of introductory music at the start. It’s been fun playing with bits of music as I open into a variety of spoken offerings, and it feels fitting in places like Imagine + Flow and my Voice Note Me podcast; but here, it was feeling a bit artificial, or perhaps just unnecessary. I just want to read you an unpolished piece of novel draft, and I don’t think much around that feels right to me currently. :) Thanks again for joining me in this start-and-stop spinning of story, one coming into form along with so many other new things.
