Midlife A La Bahareh
Episode 24 - In this episode, I explore the tiny moment before self-override — the moment when something in you already knows your truth, preference, limit, or no, and you move past it so quickly that it almost looks like maturity. We look at how high achievers can become highly skilled at turning inner truth into external smoothness. Being flexible, capable, generous, and easy may have once helped you belong, succeed, or feel safe. But over time, the same pattern can become a quiet form of self-abandonment. This episode explores the difference between clean flexibility and self-erasure, why resentment is often abandoned truth returning with a sharper voice, and how old protection strategies can keep answering for your present-day self. I also share reflection questions and a practical one-breath exercise to help you notice when you are about to override yourself, identify the identity you may be protecting, and pause before letting the old version of you answer.
