We finally made it to Albuquerque. In this episode, we're breaking down the entire Breaking Bad universe. From our first impressions to what makes the franchise one of the greatest in television history. We dive deep into Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, Hank Schrader, the unforgettable villains, and the moments that left us speechless before shifting gears to Better Call Saul to answer the question: did this prequel really need to exist, or did it somehow surpass the original? We also unpack Jimmy McGill, Kim Wexler, Chuck, the incredible new characters introduced in Better Call Saul, and settle the debate everyone has: Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul? To wrap things up, we discuss whether El Camino was a worthy epilogue, share our hottest takes from across the franchise, and finish with a rapid-fire round of questions. If you've watched any part of the Breaking Bad universe, there's probably something in here you'll disagree with and that's half the fun. Episode 23 - Cinema Maxxing

This week, we somehow went from hibachi and MSG to discussing how COVID completely wrecked my taste buds for months and may have permanently altered my relationship with food. We also survived another weekend of apartment hunting, toured some truly unforgettable floor plans, and are now anxiously waiting to hear back on an apartment we've had our eyes on for a while. On the reading front, I finally experienced Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (and have some thoughts about how it compares to the movie), gave John Green another chance with The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns, and finished It's Kind of a Funny Story. Then came our biggest accidental decision of the week: trying AMC on a whim and immediately becoming A-List members. Naturally, we spent the rest of the weekend seeing as many movies as possible. We review Obsession, The Backrooms, The Sheep Detectives, and AMC's latest Screen Unseen, The Furious. We also talk about Atlas filling in on drums at a friend's church, a lunch outing with friends afterward, and discovering what might be the greatest Six Flags hack of all time: showing up at 6 PM on a scorching Sunday evening. Finally, we're getting ready for Rosemary Beach this weekend, which means one thing: road trip podcasts are officially back and if you give a mouse a long car ride, chances are he'll make 17 podcasts. Chapters: 0:00 - Intro 5:45 - A Completely Normal Conversation About MSG  11:08 - Application Pending  21:14 - John Green: Redemption Arc?  22:34 - AMC Got Us… 25:17 - Obsession: I Thought We Were Having a Nice Date 30:13 - The Backrooms: The Real Backroom Was the Story We Lost Along the Way  39:04 - The Sheep Detectives: I Still Think It Was the Maid 44:45 - The Furious: The Screen Should Have Stayed Unseen 53:35 - Percussion and Fellowship 59:08 - Roller Coasters Hate This Trick  1:07:17 - Next Stop: Rosemary 1:12:38 - Outro

Episode 22 Pt. 2 - The Twenty One Pilots Episode: The Band That Brought Us Here

In Part Two of our Twenty One Pilots series, we get a little more personal. We discuss the songs that have meant the most to us over the last decade, the tracks that carried us through difficult seasons, the lyrics that hit differently now than they did when we first heard them, and the songs we wish we could experience again for the very first time. We also hand out some highly prestigious (and completely unofficial) awards, including Best Lyric, Best Chorus, Best Bridge, Best Music Video, Best Album Opener, Best Album Closer, Best Live Song, Best Scream, Best Rap Verse, and Best Josh Dun Moment. Along the way, we share the songs that best represent who we are, the song we associate with our relationship, our most nostalgic Twenty One Pilots memories, and the track we would use to introduce someone to the band for the very first time. Most importantly, we reflect on why Twenty One Pilots has remained such a meaningful part of our lives when so many artists have come and gone over the years. Thank you for letting us spend two full episodes talking about a band that has shaped our lives in more ways than we can count. Stay alive, friends. |-/ Chapters: 0:00:00 Intro 0:00:45 Our Favorite Songs 0:04:08 Songs That Helped Us Through Difficult Seasons 0:11:40 Lyrics That Hit Harder 10 Years Later 0:16:34 Our Favorite Lyrics 0:22:16 Songs We Want To Hear for the First Time Again 0:23:59 Songs That Represent Us 0:27:28 Song We Associate with Our Relationship 0:31:53 Most Nostalgic Song 0:34:03 Best Lyric 0:35:39 Best Chorus 0:35:57 Best Bridge 0:38:42 Best Music Video 0:40:51 Best Album Opener 0:44:51 Best Album Closer 0:46:32 Best Live Song 0:48:56 Best Scream 0:51:47 Best Rap Verse 0:54:52 Best Josh Drum Moment 0:57:02 Best Song to Introduce a New Listener to the Band 0:58:51 Most Emotional Song 1:01:15 Most Underrated 1:04:36 Why This Band is the Soundtrack of Our Lives 1:14:51 Thank You, Twenty One Pilots

Episode 21 Pt. 1 - The Twenty One Pilots Episode: The Band That Brought Us Here

It's Episode 21, and there was only one band worthy of the occasion. This week, we finally dedicate an episode to the band that has been a part of our lives for more than a decade and the band that ultimately brought us together: Twenty One Pilots. In this episode, we share our individual stories of discovering the band, reflect on our evolution as fans over the years, and discuss what we believe makes Twenty One Pilots so different from everyone else. We dive into what Tyler and Josh do exceptionally well as artists, why the Skeleton Clique has remained so fiercely loyal, why the band continues to attract criticism, and which common complaints we think completely miss the point. We also tackle some of the most important questions known to Clique-kind: ranking every album, crowning the most underrated and overrated songs, highlighting overlooked lyrics, defending songs that deserved more love, drafting our ultimate Twenty One Pilots songs, and sharing a few hot takes that may or may not get our fan credentials revoked. Whether you've been here since self-titled, discovered them through Vessel, survived the Blurryface era, joined the Banditos in Trench, or found your way here through Clancy, this episode is our love letter to a band that has shaped both of our lives in ways we never could have predicted. And somehow, after all of this, we still had more to say. Come back next week for Part Two. Episode 20 - Rolls, Records, and Regional at Best

This week, we take a trip back to the beginning and revisit one of our favorite memories: Cane's Night. What started as a casual evening of vinyl records, chicken fingers, and Edge of Tomorrow somehow turned into an all-night conversation that neither of us wanted to end. We also relive the chaos of fighting for tickets to Twenty One Pilots' massive one-night-only show in Columbus, talk about the latest progress on our movie script, and discuss the delicate balance between healthy eating and our unwavering devotion to Texas Roadhouse rolls. Elsewhere, Atlas meets with Blake to talk band backing tracks, we survive a cliff-jumping adventure at Lake Whitney, spend a packed weekend bouncing between church, Flower Child, grocery shopping, and Polka Fest, and Olivia shares some recent audiobook reviews including a few controversial opinions about John Green. To wrap things up, Atlas reflects on where he's at professionally, what the future might hold, and we talk about our search for a new apartment before the chaos of summer fully kicks in.
