On Marriage and Concupiscence — St. Augustine
“On Marriage and Concupiscence” an anti-Pelagian work of Augustine on marriage, sexual desire, and original sin, wherein he defends marriage as a real good while arguing that concupiscence belongs to fallen nature and was not part of man’s original integrity. The work is important for understanding Augustine’s doctrine of original sin, infant baptism, and the relation of nature and grace.
