The Africa Podcast Fund | Spotify invests R1,8 million in 13 African podcasts

Spotify announced that they’ll be investing in 13 African podcasts, four are based in South Africa. The Africa Podcast Fund a first-of-its-kind podcast initiative set out to invest R1.8 million in African podcasts.

MEGHAN MARKLE’S PODCAST TO RETURN IN OCTOBER

Spotify announced that Meghan Markle’s podcast Archetypes will return on 4 October. During a period of royal mourning, all members of the royal family paused their official duties. This included Meghan and her podcast. This comes after Meghan hit the brakes on releasing new episodes of her podcast. The pause was due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

South African rapper Thato Madonsela – famously known as L-Tido – launched his much-anticipated podcast titled OnlyFans Unplugged last Wednesday. South African podcasters, Mpoomy and Brenden Ledwaba have won the Podcast of the Year category
