Even Jesus Had A Mother
The wedding at Cana reveals the only recorded conversation between Jesus and His mother Mary, teaching us profound lessons about faith and timing. When the wine runs out, Mary simply presents the problem to Jesus without telling Him what to do, demonstrating her deep belief in both His power and His character. Though Jesus initially says His hour hasn't come, Mary trusts His heart and tells the servants to do whatever He says. Jesus transforms water into the finest wine, revealing His glory and showing that everything He does exceeds expectations. This miracle teaches us to trust not just in God's power, but in His loving character and perfect timing.
Let's Get Real
Life inevitably brings storms - health challenges, financial struggles, relationship difficulties, and the reality of aging. The story of Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4:35-41 reveals that following Jesus doesn't exempt us from life's turbulence; in fact, it may lead us into more storms as we go against worldly values. When the disciples questioned whether Jesus cared about their peril, He demonstrated His divine power by instantly calming both wind and waves. The real question isn't whether Jesus has power over our storms, but whether we trust His care and allow Him to be Lord rather than trying to manage Him. Sometimes He calms the storm, sometimes He calms us - both expressions of His lordship and love.
Where Is Everyone?
Pastor Jerry Madden takes the congregation to the Cross and the empty tomb on Easter Sunday and poses the question 'Where Is Everyone?' Find guidance and direction through the stories told in the Bible to encourage your walk with Christ.
If These Rocks Could Talk
Throughout Scripture, God has used ordinary rocks and stones as powerful memorials of His faithfulness. From Jacob's pillow stone where God renewed His promises during Jacob's darkest hour, to the twelve memorial stones Joshua set up after crossing the Jordan River, to the small stone David used to defeat Goliath, these simple objects tell extraordinary stories. The most significant stone of all was the one that sealed Jesus' tomb - a stone that couldn't contain the risen Savior. These biblical examples remind us that God shows up in unexpected places and uses ordinary things to accomplish extraordinary purposes. We must share these stories of God's faithfulness with future generations, creating our own memorials to remember how God has worked in our lives.
