Sound Theology and Discernment
Many evangelical Christians affirm the inspiration, inerrancy, and authority of Scripture, but do they truly believe that God's Word is sufficient? In this episode of Sound Theology and Discernment, Justin Peters is joined by Dr. Abner Chou, president of The Master's University, to discuss why the sufficiency of Scripture is one of the defining theological battles facing the church today. Justin and Dr. Chou explain that sufficiency is the practical application of biblical authority. Because Scripture is God-breathed and completely true, it must remain the final authority over doctrine, worship, counseling, identity, church leadership, Christian living, and every other area it addresses. They also examine how Scripture's sufficiency is undermined when personal experiences, supposed revelation, secular psychology, human tradition, cultural assumptions, or entertainment-driven ministry are placed alongside or above the Word of God. The conversation also highlights the upcoming Sufficiency of Scripture Summit, which seeks to equip Christians to understand, defend, love, and apply the sufficiency of God's Word throughout every area of life.
