Harry Hope and the Hypnic Jerk(s)

We're back with the last Superfluous episode of 2019! We went to our normal haunt, Little Woodrows, and did not do so hot this time, but at least we got an episode title that would make for a great '50s pop cover band name. Dan talks for a bit about the play The Iceman Cometh, as well as the terrible movie The Snowman. Sam talks about the hypnic jerk, a sleep phenomenon that actually happens pretty often. We also open a box of goodies that we received from Geeks Who Drink, and we close out with a brief recap of the infamous Peloton ad. Science Fiction Sandwiches!

After a nice long podcast siesta, Sam and Dan are back with episode 16 of The Superfluous Podcast. We went to the only Sunday trivia spot in Houston, Houston Cider Company. While Dan details Madeline L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time, Sam details the history of the Denver Omelette as well as other named sandwiches. Dan talks briefly about Fleabag, and Sam plugs season 2 of The Kominsky Method and our new favorite restaurant in the Heights, Neo Baguette! Look for episode 17 most likely in December. Stephen King goes to Space

After a summer vacation, we're back with episode 15 of @https://soundcloud.com/superfluous! After a quick foray into humorous baseball names, Dan talks about the novel IT and IT's appearances in other Stephen King novels. Sam talks about all the achievements in space travel that have happened so far this year. We close out by talking about Derry Girls, a new Netflix show. Philadelphia and the Freemasons

Sam and Dan are back for episode 14 of Superfluous. After close game for episode 13, we pulled out the W for episode 14! This makes our 3rd win at Darwins. Dan starts off by describing his trip to Pennsylvania, and their multitude of trivia formats, such as Showtime Trivia (the Geeks Who Drink format isn't so popular up in that neck of the woods). Sam mentions a few notable freemasons, and we talk about what we know about these famous masons. To close it out, Dan talks about his next big purchase, the huge board game Gloomhaven. Sam talks about the most recent concert he went to, which featured Jimmy Eat World and Third Eye Blind. Thanks again for listening, and keep an eye out for episode 15!

The Superfluous Podcast is back for episode 13, this time with a different intro song! We went to our normal trivia haunt, Darwin's Pub, and ended in our normal place, second.Dan talks about the mid-2000s song 'The Ketchup Song' and its tenuous relationship to Satanism and Rapper's Delight. Sam talks about Aston Martin, James Bond's favorite car brand, and the gadgets that the cars have in the movies.To close out the show, Sam talks about a Reel Big Fish concert he went to, and Dan talks about Maggie Rogers, a new favorite artist.
