Technoscience

In this tenth episode - also the last episode of Technoscience: Season 1 - Michelle Murphy speaks to Konstantin Georgiev. Dr Murphy is Professor in the History Department and Women and Gender Studies Institute at the University of Toronto. She is the director of University of Toronto’s Technoscience Research Unit, which focuses on critical and social justice approaches to the study of science and technology. Murphy is also part of the editorial board of the journal Catalyst: Feminism, Theory, and Technoscience [https://catalystjournal.org/index.php/catalyst] and their most recent book, The Economization of Life [https://www.dukeupress.edu/the-economization-of-life] (Duke University Press, 2017), won the Fleck Prize awarded by the Society for Social Studies of Science to an outstanding book in science and technology studies (STS). Dr Latham is Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Deakin University and Honorary Fellow in Cultural Studies at the University of Melbourne. He is a feminist theorist who specializes in the study of health and illness, combining critical concepts of ‘drugs’, ageing and narrative with bioethics, queer theory, and science and technology studies. In this episode, Teresa Hoard-Jackson speaks to Deboleena Roy. Dr Roy is Professor of Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology (NBB) and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at Emory University. Roy received her PhD in reproductive neuroendocrinology and molecular biology at the University of Toronto and her areas of research and teaching include neuroscience, molecular biology, feminist science and technology studies, feminist theory, postcolonial studies, and reproductive justice movements.
