CHINA Town Hall (CTH), is a two-part program that provides a snapshot of the current U.S.-China relationship and examines how that relationship reverberates at the local level – in our towns, states, and nation, connects Americans around the country with U.S. policymakers and thought leaders on China. The 2024 CHINA Town Hall program took place on Tuesday, April 9, with featured speaker Dr. Kurt Campbell, Deputy Secretary of State. Following the national streaming, CEAS invited the local speaker, Frank Hawke, to continue the discussion. Professor Hawke is an independent director of a large state-owned financial services firm and chairs the Human Resources sub-committee of the board. Professor Hawke was in the group of the very first American exchange students to study in China, at Peking University in 1979. This episode is the 1st part of the local portion recording with Professor Hawke.
