Gary Baker graduated from college at Lipscomb University with an accounting degree and then went on to study law at Vanderbilt School of Law, where he got his JD degree. He began his career at an accounting firm that then was called Ernst and Ernst, which is now Ernst and Young. And then he proceeded to start his own accounting firm. He also started his own law firm, owned to NASCAR racetracks Nashville Superspeedway and Bristol Motor Speedway, and raced NASCAR himself. He started a sports marketing company and brought Procter and Gamble into sports marketing as they had never previously engaged in sports marketing. He even started his own sports management company where he primarily handled management of NASCAR drivers. He's the owner of Peterbilt truck dealerships with locations in Tennessee, Alabama and Kentucky started Pinnacle Truck and trailer, which is a dealer in Class eight and construction trailers and is known to be the largest volume dealership in the nation for many brands and was heavily involved with the development of Cool Springs as we know it today.
