“You can't be happy unless you're unhappy sometimes.” Hello my name is Chanelis and this is the Amor Deliria Nervosa book club show. Today I am deliriously excited to review a Lauren Oliver book named “Delirium,” which depicts a world without love. Lena Hollaway is a 17 year old girl from Portland, Maine. In Lena’s world love is a dangerous disease that goes by the name Amor Deliria Nervosa. Luckily everyone gets a chance to get cured once they turn 18. Once you are cured you’ll be paired with a lifelong partner that the government had chosen. Lena is nervous several of her friends had contracted the disease before they were treated and even her mother had committed suicide after getting treated three time in a row after the "cure,” well atleast she thought. Yet what Lena does not yet realize is that she is about to meet Alex – a security guard at the healing laboratories – and she’ll dive headlong into a world she will never explore. Soon she will face a hard choice: to get the "cure" or let the disease worsen.
